Sari-Sari is a women and men’s online boutique with an uncompromising sense of taste in urban ethnic chic ready to wear apparel, purses, and jewelry from all over Asia. The primary theme of this boutique is its name Sari-Sari, which means diverse or variety in the Philippines, Tagalog language. Though this boutique is meant to solely stand for “Diverse or Variety,” It can also be mistaken for the Indian fabric SARI (saree); which, in essence, is somewhat related and represents what our company stands for. Many people think of a Sari as a piece of cloth that is draped on a woman’s body and is normally associated with women in India as a traditional daily garb, wedding garb etc... However, it is unknown to so many that Sari is worn not just by the women of India. But rather, women from Bangladesh, Nepal, Burmese and Sri Lanka also adorn saris and each culture has a representation of its own. To a certain degree, the evolution and the history of the word (saree) 'sari' is believed to derive from the Sanskrit word 'sati', which means strip of cloth. Thus, this strip of cloth has definitely evolved and has become a source of true inspiration for many couturiers to adapt the mystical and ornate use and design of this piece of cloth to modern and contemporary clothing. The attraction to sari comes along with other traditional eastern clothing such as: Kurtis, Kurtas, Caftan (Women’s Tunic) or a simple women’s blouse with traditional Chikan embroidery and ornate designs. The inception of this boutique... started from serendipitous events that led me to launch this online boutique. My frequent trips to Asia and as a “savoir-faire shopper” in chic ethnic garbs, I have been always attracted to mixing ethnic garb with contemporary clothing. As an example, you could mix and match a salwar kameez (a traditional three piece suit) with a nice pair of jeans. I would toss the bottom of the salwar kameez and wear the top on it’s own either with a nice pair of designer jeans by Jerome Dahan’s- Seven for all Mankind ®, Capri pants, or on dressy occasions I’d wear the heavily embroidered salwar top, Choli or Kurta, with a nice pair of slacks. I would also accessorize it with one of our beautiful beaded bags. By way of my eclectic taste in fashion and my open-mindedness to diversity I am able to create and express myself in a very Metro Ethnic Chic way. Sari-Sari is a women and men's online boutique with an uncompromising sense of taste in urban ethnic chic ready to wear apparel, beaded bags, trendy trinkets, and ethnic jewelry such as: kundans, Indian bracelets, cuff bangles, and wood bangles. Further, our collections of fine classic jewelry, such as Freshwater Cultured Pearls and Austrian Crystals, are all designed to suit every woman’s forte in accessorizing. Our “Sari Sari” collections of evening beaded bags, designer inspired bags, hobo sequin bags and classic collections of bags are all unique and affordable.
